Responsible Marketing and Cereal Flavors

July 01, 2015 2 Comments

As most of you are aware, several e-liquid manufacturers recently met with the FDA Director to talk about the future of vaping. It was made very clear that anything that could be considered as marketing to children will have severe repercussions to the industry as a whole. We want to be on the forefront of this movement to ensure that no e-liquid companies can be considered as marketing to children, and that means we need to take a serious look at ourselves first.

Recently, cereals have become a staple in many vapers’ collection, and we believe nostalgia plays a large part in that. There’s something lighthearted about pouring breakfast from a cartoony box to enjoy as an adult, and we set out to capture that feeling with our branding.

Vapejoose, like the vast majority of e-liquid vendors, does not, has not, and will not sell to children. We also have no intention of marketing towards them. Fun and cartoony labels are meant to bring the child out of an adult, not bring an adult product to minors. However, we see how these images may reflect on the industry and have put together a plan of action to correct this.

We have just hired a full-time graphic designer that is going to be assisting with the creation of our brand new image for Vapejoose, along with all of our products. We are working around the clock to get all of our labels changed to meet and exceed all standards set forth by the FDA as well as guidelines set forth by The Vaping Militia and other vaping advocacy groups. We have immediately made changes for some of the worst offenders and our goal is to have all of our labels changed no later than the end of this week. Our goal was never to be seen as potentially marketing toward children, and we are extremely apologetic about any adverse effect our imagery may have had on the industry as a whole.

We are taking the steps to correct these actions internally, and we’d also like to offer our time and resources to any other e-liquid company who may be viewed by the FDA as marketing toward children with their labels by offering our design services free of charge. If your company is interested in help with this please contact me personally at steve@vapejoose.com

Sincerely,

Stephen Knight

I have never looked at these labels as “marketing to children” I always thought we were going full circle as adults bringing back the childhood we once had. I guess you see what you want to see…
Kids today if they want something they will find a way to get it. That’s not the fault of companies making the product it is just the way it has always been. All the FDA has is the marketing to children
BS.
That’s my little rant on that!
